Admission requirements

You

• are holding a Master degree or Licentiate from a Swiss university or federal institute of technology and
• meet the formal prerequisites for a doctorate (e. g. certain average mark or grade) of the relevant faculty or graduate school
   

Steps in the application for a doctorate

1. Consult the pre-requisites for a doctorate of the relevant faculty or graduate school
    
2. Look yourself for a supervisor for your doctoral thesis project at the University of Bern; if necessary, ask the administration of the relevant institute/department for assistance
    
3. Apply online for admission
